Oysters & Charcuterie at The Sydney Opera House: Sydney Road Trip – Day 2

In the morning, we grabbed our coffee from the Starbucks at the end of our street and the plan was to pick up some cheap on-the-go bagels from a zomato suggestion which turned out to be a fail. Instead, we went on a hunt around QVB and I managed to get my blueberry bagel and peanut butter fix from somewhere called Sonoma 😛

QVB is definitely a very impressive building and so full of character, and it has many high-end retail stores that are great for window-shopping or for when you’re feeling spendy. As we were not feeling spendy, we proceeded to make our way towards the markets at The Rocks which reminded me of a smaller and more quaint version of our Queen Victoria markets. Sebastian stopped by one of the food stalls and bought an octopus and a crocodile skewer. Not my thing but apparently it tasted good!

So after living in Australia for my entire life I finally went to the Opera House! The real highlight though was indulging at Opera Bar – highly recommended. We ordered half a dozen Pacific Oysters with ponza and tabasco sauce, a charcuterie platter, and a big bowl of wedges. Everything was so exciting to look at – I completely stuffed myself but it was so worth it!

The next stop was Pitt Street Mall. I have to say, I much preferred this to our Bourke Street Mall – no trams to look out for, and many more shops if you include the seven stories of Westfield. Unfortunately, I wore shoes that day that were not designed for hours and hours of constant walking and I was in so much pain even before we got there that we didn’t stay too long.

I was so tempted to buy UGG boots on the way back to the hotel. Even though we managed to conquer over 30.000 steps in one day a couple of years ago in New York, I forgot to bear in mind that I had my super comfy Nikes on that day. Our Sydney trip was probably the most I’ve walked in over a year. I really need to start being more active >.<

      Ah thank you!! I really love being behind the camera, I usually end up taking pictures of buildings and food though because everyone around me is so camera shy haha 🙁

      Oh yes me too! What’s your favourite type of bagel and spread?
      I usually go straight for the peanut butter and recently fell in love with choc chip bagels 😛
